Pyrathane® 83A is an FDA 1680 and 2600 compliant polyester-based polyurethane which is clear in coloration. It is extremely tough and durable, exhibiting high tensile strength as well as excellent abrasion resistance and flex life. Our Pyrathane® 83A has been specifically selected for drive belt applications. Pyramid has over forty years of experience with this material, and it has proven its superiority to other polyurethanes for most applications.

Belts of both flat and round cross sections can be manufactured of Pyrathane® 83A material.

We recommend an initial stretch of approximately 10% which works well on most applications. Higher or lower stretch percentages can be utilized to increase or decrease the final belt tension. Moderate variations can be used with little effect on belt life.
